Time To Adapt

Writer: Shannon SandyShannon Sandy

As I am sure we have all seen, we have entered a lockdown situation. For most of us this means a HUGE shift in our daily routine. Whilst this change means we naturally will be spending a lot more time inside, it is still important to establish a routine and introduce some continuity into this uncertain time.

For me, I am in the process of organising my days (and weeks!) around working from home/ admin tasks, HIIT training, yoga, meditation, a running plan, scheduled meal times and a lot of down time.

Bodyweight and HIIT circuits are a great way to maintain your fitness whilst away from your usual gym routines- whether, like me, you are able to find some outside space away from others, or if you have a decent space inside your home! So as we begin to enter this lockdown period, start to think about how you can adapt to get the most out of this period of time. Remember you are still allowed (and encouraged!) to get out and exercise daily away from others! This is going to be an interesting time for us all but exercise is the perfect way to improve both physical AND mental health and preserve some normality. I will be uploading some useful resources for those exercising and rehabilitating at home over the next couple of weeks- stay tuned! For now, here is my own adapted HIIT circuit from this morning on a nearby basketball court.
