?! When you walk, do you ever really think about what is happening in your body ?!
With every step you take, the first point of contact is your foot. To allow this to happen safely, you need to have a good range of movement at your ankle joint. This movement at the ankle then determines all other motion further up the kinetic chain.
Over the last week I have had many requests for help with stretching the calf muscles and mobilising the ankle. In order to increase the movement at the ankle it is imperative to work on the calf muscles: the gastrocnemius and soleus.
!! Whether you are suffering with injury in your foot/ankle- including Achilles pain, muscle tears, sprains etc.- or simply looking to work on your flexibility, have a go with the circuit below and let me know how you get on! !!
